(But went under a number of different names such as CADCO and TACC as far back as 1980.)

Mission:

 

The mission of the North Bay Area Arts Council is "to enrich the quality of our lives and strengthen the community by nurturing the arts in all its forms."

 

Goals:

 

  1. ADVOCACY - To actively seek opportunities to increase the stature and awareness of the arts in the community.

  2. Communication - To develop revenue resources to support the arts, artists and artisans.

  3. COMMUNITY PROJECTS & EDUCATION - To initiate and facilitate projects which promote the arts in the community.

  4. RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT - To create opportunities through communications that foster the arts community.

 

How often does it meet?

 

Board of Directors meets once a month.  Call Laura Little for more information.

 

Does it welcome new members, and if so, what are the qualifications for membership? Is there a fee?

 

NBAAC has approx. 140 members.

Anyone with an interest in the arts is welcome to join.

Cost is $ 25.00 for individuals, $15.00 students and seniors and $50.00 for an Arts Group.

 

Does the Association sponsor/publish/produce anything? Does it have a newsletter, printed or electronic?

 

NBAAC has an electronic newsletter and a Community Arts Calendar.

 

Is the Association/group associated with any other association in any way? Is it a branch or member of a larger umbrella group?

 

We are an umbrella group representing over 1000 artists and art groups.
